Saving a bookmark

There are two main ways to save a bookmark:

1. Type the Saved.io prefix before any URL in your browser address bar.
2. Paste a URL into the Add a Bookmark bar in the web interface.

saved.io/

For example:

saved.io/example.com

Saved.io will fetch the page title, then save the bookmark.

You can also use a full URL:

saved.io/https://example.com/article

Manual save

Manual save skips title fetching and opens the details form before the bookmark is saved. This lets you add or edit the title, notes and tags first.

saved.io/+example.com

Quick save

Quick save skips title fetching, saves the URL immediately, and redirects you back to your bookmarks.

saved.io/-example.com

Saving to a list

Lists can be created on the fly. Type a list subdomain before any URL in your browser address bar.

listname.saved.io/

For example:

design.saved.io/example.com

This saves the bookmark into that list. If the list does not exist, it will be created.

You can also use manual save and quick save with lists:

design.saved.io/+example.com

Manual save into that list.

design.saved.io/-example.com

Quick save into that list.

Notes

Notes let you add a small amount of text to a bookmark. Search also checks notes, so they are a good place to add extra keywords.

To add a note:

1. Edit any saved bookmark. This will take you to a screen where a note can be added.
2. Use manual save before any URL when saving. This will show the details form before the bookmark is saved.

Tags

You can add hashtags to any bookmark. Just include a hashtag when adding a note. It will automatically be saved as a tag and you can filter bookmarks by it.

You can add multiple tags to a bookmark.

You can combine search operators with normal search words.

Newest first is the default sort.

FAQ

Why did the title not save?

Some websites block apps like Saved.io from fetching their pages. When that happens, Saved.io will save the URL without a title.

Why is there no favicon?

Saved.io is most likely grabbing the favicon for you in the background. It may be updated shortly, but browser caching can mean it does not appear right away. Some websites do not have a favicon, or do not have one that Saved.io can easily grab. In that case, we show a replacement icon.

How many bookmarks can I save?

There is no set limit to the number of bookmarks you can save, however there is a fair-use policy and rate limits.
